Hourly Pay Rate:

Minimum wage

General Statement of Duties:

The Career Services Marketing Intern will oversee and manage Career Services marketing initiatives and social media platforms. The Marketing Intern will work closely with professional staff to create marketing materials, manage social media accounts and develop creative content to engage students with Career Services.

Responsibilities:

Monitor and manage the Career Services social media platforms (Instagram and LinkedIn), adjusting outreach as needed

Create marketing materials for job opportunities, programs, and student/alumni highlights

Collect quantitative data from social media accounts to increase the number of followers and track account engagements

Prepare weekly updates/reports on projects and social media engagement

Develop and implement ideas for interactive social media utilizations including Instagram reels and coordinating Instagram takeovers with summer interns and alumni employees

Provide support with updating office materials, including presentation slides, handouts, and website updates

Support the Career Services team with marketing responsibilities and tasks

Serve as a student representative on the Career Services team

Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

Experience with social media, Instagram and LinkedIn platforms

Experience creating marketing materials in Canva

Excellent knowledge of Google documents

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Solid understanding of different marketing techniques that would help Career Services reach more undergraduate, graduate students, and recent alumni

Self-starter with a strong desire to learn in a professional work environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to develop new and creative social media content ideas to promote the office

Experience with marketing computer software and editing platforms a plus

Strong ability to work collaboratively with other students and professional staff
