A typical day as an SEO Analyst might include:
Understand user experiences that help people.
Analyze traffic, Organic traffic (and All Traffic Channels in general).
Optimizing sites for search engines: mobile search, video search, image search, international search and more.
Staying on top of current search engine news, trends, SEO practices, and emerging items of interest.
Developing and executing on advanced inbound linking strategies.
Ongoing keyword research, analysis, recommendations and execution.
Monitoring competitor sites and the general marketplace and ensuring that Leaf Group sites maintain competitive advantages in SEO.
Conducting ongoing SEO assessments of and implementing SEO best practices for assigned sites.
Reporting on the SEO of assigned properties including regular incremental reports plus analysis of specific SEO or product changes, enhancements or initiatives.
You will be successful if you are confident in your analytical skills, understand how SEO works, and go beyond the confines of a typical SEO ethos.
What You Have:
Understand data and data points, and various analytical tools.
Understand User Experience and its critical importance.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Understanding of the search engine industry and industry standards.
Proven ability to optimize for organic search on the major search engines.
Familiarity with programming languages including HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
Familiarity with social media, community websites, and social networking on the web.
Sound understanding of user experience for the web.
Desire to learn daily.
Not afraid to wear multiple hats - no job being too small or too large.
