POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant, Brand Experience position will work with the Brand Experience team to conceptualize and execute a wide range of special events and promotional activity for all divisions of the brand, maintaining industry and consumer perception of Calvin Klein as a leading lifestyle brand. This role will liaise with various internal departments on the execution of events and special projects, acting as the hub of all communication around Calvin Klein brand experiences and ensuring each department/vendor is kept abreast of needs specific to their department. The role will also provide assistance to the Director - Special Events as it relates to departmental and/or administrative needs.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:  

DEPARTMENT ADMINISTRATION

  • Works with the Directors of Brand Experience on administrative duties including expense reports, travel plans, and appointment scheduling.
  • Coordinates travel both domestically and internationally for external individuals traveling on behalf of CKI to events (including entertainment, press, bloggers, stylists, etc.) and, when necessary, liaises with corporate travel department to coordinate hotel blocks and payment approvals.
  • Support departmental and event related invoice submission and tracking of payments to vendors.
  • Maintains the Global Event Calendar and handles monthly distribution to Domestic and International integrated teams.   
  • Handles departmental supply orders and maintains inventory of Brand Experience closet.   
  • Maintains special events digital archive for all event collaterals by project, including all budgets, creative materials, event collateral.

BRAND EXPERIENCE

  • Handle and help Manager, Brand Experience and Directors of Brand Experience with preparation and planning of all aspects of events including scheduling, sourcing and general organization of event materials, visual and decor, catering, support vendor management, logistics, set up and breakdown of events, on-site event execution, as well as organize staffing, uniforms, and music.
  • Keep abreast of new cultural establishments, restaurants, venues, launches, etc. in New York City and outer markets, through weekly and monthly print media and the internet, and maintaining an ongoing list.  
  • Detailed research in support of and specific to designated projects and launches.
  • Assist Manager, Brand Experience with creating internal and external decks and creative briefs.
  • Assist Manager, Brand Experience with post-event recaps.
  • Maintain strong relationships with other CKI departments as they relate to specific event needs.
  • Creates guests lists in tandem with appropriate members of the PR team, manages the invitation and RSVP tracking process.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships interdepartmentally to ensure smooth execution of each event component.
  • Identify emerging market trends and technology by monitoring the market place and analyzing competitive brand activity to be presented in a monthly recap report summarizing all luxury brand activity globally.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience:

  • 1+ years of experience in communications, events, public relations, marketing, brand management, or related field; knowledge of or experience in fashion industry preferred

Skills:

  • Able to adapt to the team culture and is passionate about becoming part of it.
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel, Keynote, PowerPoint; FashionGPS preferred, but not required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Experience in fast paced environment. Must be self-motivated, trustworthy, team player, flexible, organized, and professional.
