Summary:
Prepared Foodservice Category Marketers build businesses, grow categories, and lead teams. We build businesses through P&L ownership, strategic thought leadership and having an operational mindset. Growing categories involves understanding our products, customers and brands and being open to innovation. We lead teams both directly and indirectly through influence and cross-functional leadership. This position is part of a team that is responsible for achieving volume and profit objectives for product categories within the business unit.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Gain understanding of P&L management and raw material markets that drive category pricing decisions.
Assist with sales and operations volume forecasts and closely monitor product availability and service levels. Proactively communicate relevant issues with Sales.
Assist with management of inventory, capacity, and quality issues at the plant and product level.
Assist with optimizing product assortments and discontinuing inefficient items.
Produce change projects including value quality improvement initiatives and line extension product launches.
Assist with product research, brand research, competitive research, and product matches and execution of quality and competitive product cuttings.
Work closely with the Category Marketing Manager and additional Marketing teams on execution of category selling tools, promotional initiatives, and sales communications.
Monitor industry trends market share and competitive activity.
Requirements:
Education: Business marketing background 4 year degree is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: 1 plus year of experience is preferred
Computer Skills: Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite specifically Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Special Skills: Resourcefulness and initiative are two professional traits that are necessary to being successful in this position along with attention to detail, strong work ethic, and strong analytical skills.
Supervisory: None.
Travel: 1-4 trips a year.
