What’s the role?

As Global Product Owner (GPO) for Pricing, you act as the CEO for your product – Pricing Toolkit - thereby ensuring that your product – a digital pricing platform - is being used as intended, creates value, and receives positive feedback from the end-user community.

Pricing is a critical lever for business success in Chemicals and Products and you as GPO Pricing – together with other Commercial Product Owners – are responsible for steering, refining, and setting up the digital Pricing ecosystem to enable the success of C P’s commercial pricing strategy. You are part of a global team of GPOs in the wider Transformation and Business Improvement (TBI) organization which owns the global processes and digital products required by the commercial teams (sales, marketing, OTC). These digital products are used for deal making (including pricing), contract management, performance management etc.

Accountabilities:


Strategically lead but no direct reports a product team of 10 to more staffs who work with you towards continuously improving, building and developing your digital product.
You own the product vision, roadmap and improvement backlog and you are accountable for prioritising, driving, and delivering the roadmap for the product, incl. designing and implementing the corresponding capability needs across the organization (people, process, platform).
You are responsible for KPIs such as product usage, capability building, positive end-user experience and feedback, and value delivery of the product.
It is your role to work with the regional business teams, Process Experts, Subject Matter Experts in the business, other global Product Owners, IT and many more stakeholders to determine the product development funnel.
You take an active role in connecting and aligning the product with other Product Owners to deliver connected and/or integrated solutions. Substantial (virtual) working with other team members and colleagues across the organization and significant external- and internal- stakeholder management at various levels is required.
You work alongside IT to act as the business interface for the product development resources and you participate in supplier engagement meetings, support hosted events and/or panels where relevant.
You are also responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities and functionalities and you have an external market, as well as cross-business understanding to bring in new perspectives that help shape the product vision and future developments. As such, you are externally focused to understand changes & capability developments in the market and you effectively consider how these trends may benefit Shell.
Expected to contribute to the strategy for the digital pricing ecosystem
You are accountable for addressing performance issues and gaps together with IT, ensuring that your product performs effectively through the eyes of the end-users.
You are outcome focused and empowered with a remit to deliver.


What we need from you?


Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with significant work experience
Experience in a Commercial (Sales, Marketing) and/or Contracting in the wider Downstream business or from outside of Shell is strongly desired
Expert in project and change management to lead / drive improvements globally.
Experience in complex stakeholder management; Collaborative attitude towards stakeholders, colleagues, and team members with a proven track-record to actively bring others along on a journey
Technology or digital savvy and comfortable working with new technology platforms, (advanced) models and complex data systems, to act as a role model for our (digital) change journey.
Excellent engagement and stakeholder management skills with the ability to understand needs and requirements and translate those into solutions; an effective communicator with experience in adapting to different audiences with different needs and wants. Ability to create traction and commitment in the organization for the delivered change/improvement changes and improvements.
