Profile

Hunker

believes good design should be a part of everyday life — and that you don’t have to be an expert to make it happen. We are looking for an Influencer Marketing Manager to help us develop content for our social audiences and grow our social footprint.

A big vision calls for a big job. As we grow, our need for an

Influencer Marketing Manager

grows with us.

We are looking for an

Influencer Marketing Manager

to identify and engage talent for social collaborations, content creation, and special events. The right candidate will be keenly focused on influencers who see design as we do: a tool and opportunity to facilitate larger discussions about creativity and diversity.

Leaf Group is a house of brands, creating and cultivating digital-first companies in growing lifestyle categories: Fitness & Wellness (Well Good, Livestrong.com); Home & Decor (Hunker, Society6, Deny Designs), and Art & Design (Saatchi Art, The Other Art Fair). Additionally, we have performance focused brands in key categories such as Travel, Pets, and DIY (OnlyInYourState, Cuteness, eHow). Our media and marketplace brands are authentic and authoritative, reaching a large and growing passionate audience.

We work in a fun, collaborative environment that is diverse, adventurous, and open-minded. We look for proactive, accountable people focused on continuous learning and growth to push themselves and our businesses forward. Check us out

You’ll Report To:

Director of Audience Development (as well as work closely with our Senior Content Director)

A typical day as an Influencer Marketing Manager might include:

Developing and executing influencer marketing strategies and creative campaigns (about two dozen a year), with a special focus on promoting diversity within the design community and expanding Hunker’s mission to make design accessible and visible for everyone.

Serving as liaison between influencers and Hunker.

Ideating events, panels, parties, and other activations that help extend Hunker's reach and influence. (Note: All events are currently virtual. We will resume in-person events according to CDC guidance.)

Managing and overseeing legal contracts and requirements as they apply to influencers; ensuring all requirements are met; updating management on successes/learnings of each partnership.

Establishing and monitoring quarterly goals with an emphasis on increasing Hunker impressions, mentions, and followers.

Setting KPIs for each influencer campaign and establishing a reporting structure for sharing and contextualizing performance with the team.

Building long-term relationships with influencers and thought leaders

Supporting all major and minor editorial tentpoles — everything from specialized packages (Plant Week, Small Business Week) to specific holidays (Juneteenth, winter holidays) — with ideas and plans for accompanying social takeovers.

Contributing to Instagram Stories ideation and production, including appearing on camera occasionally.

Aiding in production of content taking place in Hunker House; identifying influencers to create content there and liaising with photography and editorial to see projects to completion.

Keeping abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and influencers.

Contributing to branded projects as needed (identifying potential talent, handling outreach and contracts).

You’ll be successful if you can scout diverse, emerging talent that can speak to Hunker’s audience, helping to expand our social presence and our brand’s overall impact.

What You Have:

3-4 years experience managing talent relations or influencer marketing for a brand in the lifestyle space.

A keen awareness of the design-related social community — everyone from major players to up-and-coming talent who would be a good fit for Hunker’s audience.

Existing relationships with influencers in the design or lifestyle space.

Excellent verbal and written communication.

Familiarity with contract negotiations and comfort liaising with legal departments and talent and/or talent management.

Comfort appearing on camera on social media platforms

Not afraid to wear multiple hats - no job being too small or too large.

We're casual and informal but we work hard and work responsibly. Personal accountability goes a long way. We believe we are the change.
