Director of Business Development

This coach/player position is responsible for building and leading a Business Development team as well as taking on the individual responsibilities to build strategic partnerships with Lenders, Marketplaces, Media companies and Aggregators to provide high quality credit repair referrals. This role is part of the VP/GM’s senior leadership team, and the individual is expected to contribute as an equal to other SLT members.

The Business Development team is a combination of hunting and managing that requires heavy prospecting, consultative selling, and excellent closing skills as well as account management skills. We are looking for a superstar who has a track record of being in the top quartile of their current and previous employers. Primary Responsibilities:

Reports to the VP/GM Ovation Credit Services

Partners with VP/GM and senior staff to define and execute business development strategies.

Hunt and prospect to find relevant lead providing companies / partners

Manage existing lead proving partners

Manage a team that currently consists of one but is expected to grow

Identify and establish relationships with decision makers within a defined target list.

Develop, direct, and negotiate customer sales agreements.

Conduct business meetings with lenders’ leadership to pursue new profitable referral opportunities and product developments and to increase market share.

Provide implementation support and training to partners regarding Ovation’s policy, procedures, products, programs, and technology.

Consult with partners to improve their success and maximize their revenue per referral.

Utilize Salesforce to track account pipeline statuses, lead volume projections, contract, and compliance requests

Collaborate professionally with internal departments as needed. This includes Legal, Compliance, IT Developers, Product Managers, Marketing Managers, Accounting Managers, Sales, and our Service teams.

Compile performance reports and billing reports on a weekly, bi-monthly and/or monthly basis for our partners

Conduct regular account reviews with partners to optimize performance both from the partner’s side, as well as Ovation’s side.

Qualifications:

5 years in a business development role. BD team management experience is desired.

For internal candidates, preferably current experience at the manager level or above with Ovation Credit Services

A desire to lead by example

A high value and respect for others in the company and desire to work cross-functionally

A desire to work within a team that supports both internal and external clients and leverages the strengths of all team members towards a common goal

A self-starter and desire to solve problems and look for opportunities to contribute more

Basic understanding of internet-based technologies and systems

Experience contracting and with business development workflows

Proficiency with Microsoft Suite of products, or other database management tools

Impeccable verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

High attention to detail regarding documentation and processes

Must be a team player and adaptable to rapidly changing environment.

Experience with lead generation a plus

Ability to work flexible hours that may include evenings and weekends, as needed

Bachelors Degree in Business or Marketing preferred or equivalent experience

Ability to travel (10% - 25%)
