Summary
CHS, Inc has an exciting opportunity to join our Trading and Risk Management team as a Senior Commodity Marketing Specialist . This position executes the sales, marketing and trading strategies of the CHS Distillers Corn Oil Marketing Business plan of marketing DCO volume for 3rd party ethanol producers. This position will oversee performance against those sales including the negotiations with counter-parties such as Railroads, Truck Transports, and put-through providers, as well as trading/arbitrage with other non-marketed producers. This position is located at our corporate headquarters in Inver Grove Heights, MN and works a hybrid schedule (three days in office, two days remote).
Responsibilities
Maintain existing and develop new relationships with the core DCO customers and production facilities in the portfolio.
Partner with departmental S&OE, S&OP, production, and technical staffs to provide world class service to our customer base.
Negotiate and enter into Long- and Short-Term product purchase and sales transactions on behalf of plant partners and in alignment with CHS risk positions.
Maintain inventory and sales planning for each plant and terminal.
Provide input to routine plant Risk Management Committee meetings.
Prepare and conduct sales presentations, negotiate contracts, and proposals.
Coordinate sales with logistical support partners to maximize product netbacks to plants and to ensure efficient product movements via truck and rail sales.
Keep current on regulations, industry changes and trends that impact near term and future sales and marketing activities.
Develop, maintain, and refine Marketing Plans for marketed plants and terminal positions.
Maintain customer compliance within agreed-upon credit policies
Champion and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
High School diploma or GED
4 years of experience in Supply Chain and Procurement and/or Commodities
Additional Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred in Agriculture, Business or related field
Experience trading vegetable oils, biodiesel and/or renewable diesel
In depth understanding of vegetable oil markets and logistics
Knowledge of vegetable oils or biofuels industries
Understanding of commodity markets and trading principles

Physical Requirements
