Job Details:

SUMMARY:

This position provides analysis within the Foodservice Category Margin Management team supporting the Food Service Business Units. Ideal candidate will be familiar with understanding general cost drivers in product categories and their impact on margin. The baseline understanding of costs will influence all aspects of business specific pricing and margin decisions and will ensure the basis for pricing decisions are accurate.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Pro-actively providing analysis in all category-related activities including but not limited to RFPs, SKU rationalization, low margin analysis, category and customer specific strategic pricing

Identifying cost savings initiatives

Gather competitive intelligence

Verify product cost drivers

Support development of long and short-term category strategies and tactics, gross margin hurdle rate analysis, communicate relevant issues to the broader team

Make recommendations around optimizing product assortments and discontinuing inefficient items

Monitor industry trends market share product FMV and competitive activity

Candidates should be comfortable working with cross-functional project teams that include Trade and Customer Pricing, R&D, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, and Marketing functional support

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor s degree in accounting finance economics or other business-related fields

3 plus years experience in finance category management accounting or economics; exposure to marketing trade and sales analytics Excellent organizational and communication skills

Strong Excel and data manipulation skills

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with sound expertise in financial modeling

Thorough understanding Microsoft Office applications with a strong emphasis focused on building complex Excel spreadsheets as analysis tools

Strong written and verbal communication skills; good presentation skills

Knowledge of foodservice and or CPG industry preferred; financial acumen

Strong cost pricing and general business management skills

Familiar with Tyson internal applications preferred

Travel: 1-2 Domestic trips per year
