SUMMARY: This is a Foodservice Poultry Category Marketing role responsible for Category and Portfolio Management. Primary responsibilities include developing, implementing, and executing product category and brand strategies to achieve the company’s Annual Operating Plan. This role leads portfolio priorities (Internal & Externally based), quality benchmarking, and product positioning. This role will serve as a product category expert. The role provides input/partners with Innovation in product development and provides input/partners with Brand Marketing relative to advertising and promotion. This role is responsible for category tracking and performance relative to external market and provides guidance on category forecasting. This candidate should be comfortable in leading projects and initiatives with Cross-Functional Teams including Margin Management, Revenue Management, Innovation, Channel Marketing, Sales, R&D, Training, etc. Other duties include: Implement long-term and short-term category strategies and tactics to generate demand and remain competitive; Provide input an execute initiatives in line with Strategic Plans; Identify and communicate portfolio gaps; Serve as Poultry Product Category Expert internally and externally; Support financial commitments through understanding key business drivers; Provide guidance in S&OP Process and manage Risk & Opportunity Process; Optimize product assortment and manage Sku Rationalization Process (product lifecycle); Lead portfolio and product recommendations with key Customers and/or Operators; Uphold product proposition and support Margin Team on Quality improvement initiatives; Develop, communicate, and implement Category Selling Tools and Product Category Sales Communication; Monitor external market trends and competitive activity.
REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
Experience: 4 plus years of experience in Marketing (Brand, Category, Product, Channel, and/or Innovation) or related field. Foodservice and/or Poultry experience preferred. Experience leading cross functional Teams.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, including presentation skills.
Computer Skills: Standard computer skills in Excel Word and PowerPoint.
Special Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to influence and excel as a project leader in a fast-paced changing environment.
Travel: Includes some degree of travel (plant or customer visits)
