Job Description:

The position exist to support regional Commercial teams in generating insights from external and internal data sources to support decision making. These Functional teams are accountable for activities that impact the shape and size of the Business globally and drive the formulation and implementation of strategy.

​The primary role of the Product Marketing Manager are as follows -

Determine the short, medium and long term price outlook for Ethylene Glycol products (MEG, DEG, TEG) in the Americas, including pricing scenarios, price setting mechanisms and sign-posts for use by commercial teams in structuring and negotiating deals.

Develop deep understanding (Mastery) of the glycol market, working closely with external partiers (eg customers, industry consultants). Accountable for global glycol analytics to support Global Marketing Manager (GMM) in setting global glycol price set including OCSVs.

Develop and maintain regional/global cost curves and Supply/Demand balances to assess competitive position.

Developing competitive analysis for the product line in Americas and support the GMM globally

Set direction for the Americas glycols product line by developing the commercial strategies based on external-tested strategic beliefs, scenarios and assumptions and aligning the regional strategy with the global glycol strategy.

Support execution of the Americas commercial strategy, working in close collaboration with commercial product line leaders, and support implementation of global outcomes – e.g. volume of products to Asia and Europe.

Provide subject matter expertise to challenge and advise on contract negotiation mandates in the Americas, assessing fit with regional and global commercial strategies.

Develop and maintaining product line competence development tools and onboarding material, in close cooperation with the GMM & Shell Learning experts

Ensure upkeep of pricing excellence and contract optionality toolkits, including sources of data, signposts for changing price setting mechanisms etc, by working with tool owners in the Centre of Excellence.

Embed learnings from deal & contract lookbacks into improvements of price guidance accuracy (improved data, improved beliefs on regression analysis etc.)

Act as analytic thought partner for America’s Product and Commercial Managers on pricing and market-related issues and provide recommendations to GMM for Commercial and Contracting Strategies.

Requirements:

Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.

Bachelors degree in Business/Economics/Marketing or related field with strong performance; MBA is an advantage.

Minimum of six (6) years of experience in Chemicals industry.

With at least four (4) years in pricing analysis experience.

Strong verbal/written communication skills; proven ability to synthesize complex information into actionable conclusions and get buy-in from wide ranging stakeholders.

Pricing analytics experience required with additional broader commercial experience preferred

Analytic skills to execute multiple complex analyses (e.g., segmentation, value/ benefit map, value to customers)

Strong research and synthesis skills (e.g., translate analysis and facts into implications and recommendations

Strong microeconomic fundamental analysis knowledge

Mastery in numerical modeling using Excel; Knowledge of Power BI and other data visualization tools
