Description:
As our new Marketing Officer you are a dynamic and solutions-focused marketer and a key member of the team delivering strategic marketing plans that support the reputation and brand of the University. Our work is incredibly broad and varied, but centres on raising the profile of the inspiring research aligned to all three Strategic Research Institutes; Marine, Sustainable Earth and Health, which incorporates arts, humanities and business expertise, to audiences including policy makers and industry. A creative person, you confidently devise marketing campaign concepts and ideas that be scaled up or down in line with your budget, but always meet objectives. You understand what makes a good campaign, the role of content, and why the audience is at the centre of what marketers do. With an eye for detail and the ability to interpret complex information, you can produce persuasive copy that translates across multiple platforms of communication and drives action. Incorporating the best digital and social media tactics is second nature to you, and your evaluation and analysis inform and optimise the next initiative. We welcome honed organisational skills that have underpinned your experience of producing and delivering operational marketing plans to deadline. Meanwhile, you negotiate relationships with a high level of professionalism, calm manner and good humour. In return, you will enjoy a working week in which no two days are the same. You’ll lead on your own projects in a supportive environment; marketing the latest research that is investigating solutions to some of the 21st Century’s biggest challenges, the University’s arts and culture agenda, and a growing programme of public engagement events with research. You’ll be actively encouraged to access the latest sector knowledge, develop skills that will enrich your work, whilst learning from, and working with, a team of professionals that extend right across the External Relations spectrum. Please demonstrate how you meet the essential criteria outlined in the knowledge, qualifications, training and experience elements of the job description in your supporting statement. For an informal discussion to find out more about the role then please contact Jane Cullen: by email at jane.cullen@plymouth.ac.uk Interviews are likely to take place on Monday 5 September 2022 and you will be notified if you have been shortlisted or not. These are full-time positions working 37 hours per week on a permanent basis. Flexible working options including job share will be considered. We offer a competitive salary package and a generous pension and holiday scheme. We also offer a range of other benefits, including ongoing development opportunities. A successful external candidate for this position would be employed by the University of Plymouth Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of Plymouth. Employees of the University of Plymouth Services Limited work alongside the University of Plymouth colleagues in delivery of Plymouth’s strategic vision, and will adopt the University of Plymouth’s HR policies and procedures in full unless otherwise stated. The University of Plymouth is a diverse, welcoming community where everyone makes a difference and is encouraged to bring their whole selves to work.
