What is the role
As Shell Chemicals’ Marketing Comms Advisor, you will have the opportunity to support the end-to-end process of helping to concept, develop and execute Shell Chemicals’ key customer events held in various locations around the world. Our chemicals portfolio is broad and covers many industry sectors, from chemicals manufacturers to consumer goods and furniture/mattresses. You will be responsible for the planning, organizing an execution of events using a global agency roster. You will interface between multiple product lines in the Shell Chemicals portfolio and agencies, making communication and organizational skills particularly important. Strong financial skills are also essential as you will be responsible for budget management and tracking ROI for all events.
Maintain the quality of our events activation and presence and develop as well as curate from regions and industry sectors best-in-show examples of event activation.
Drive continuous improvement with framework for measuring event performance against objectives.
Extensive project management experience (experience in large customer events is a plus)
Excellent writing and organizational skills
Ability to show a great team ethic, have exceptional organizational skills, effective communication abilities and outstanding time management skills
Partner with global marketing communications manager to drive creative and integrated storytelling at events and through other activations and campaigns.
Ability to function well in a face paced (sometimes chaotic) environment under tight deadlines
Support marketing planning process with global sectors and deliver framework for events evaluation and decision-making.
Develop and translate a brief into the vision, objectives, activities, tasks and outcomes
Responsibilities
This role will help the Sr. Global Brand & Marketing Communications Manager with key strategic B2B opportunities that are made available due to current business strategy and customer relationships. This role will help develop business cases while reviewing new opportunities for business growth.
This role will require you to operate both independently as well as a team depending on the project scope. You would help deliver activation programs across business working with both agencies, local marketing teams, CR and Legal as needed.
Deep understanding of detailed Health, Safety, Security, Environment (HSSE), Ethics & Compliance and Brand policies and requirements is a must and will be critical to the success of this role.
This role requires the ability to work with high level leadership and manage key stakeholder relationships. This individual needs to be comfortable presenting key learnings and findings.
An ability to travel is required.
What we need from you
Requirements:
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis
Must have Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Film Production
Minimum of 7 years’ Experience in a B2B marketing environment
Substantial project management experience – leading multiple activations at once
Demonstrated track record of strong customer orientation
Ability to work across multiple countries and cultures (time zone flexibility is critical)
Deep understanding of the external environment impacting Chemicals’ customer segment needs
Ability to engage senior management and the sales team on marketing topics.
Excellent communication and relationship building skills
Ability to anticipate changes and act proactively
Ability to translate business strategy into actionable activation strategy and plans
Practical problem-solving approach with clear customer focus.
Creative and positive thinker, able to motivate others and deliver results.
