Admissions Representative II
to join their team. This position serves as a military-affiliated admissions and enrollment outreach coordinator for the University of Montana (UM), Missoula College, and Bitterroot College.
The person assigned to this position will fulfill duties and responsibilities in connection with both Admissions and the Military and Veteran Services Office. The employee is expected to manage and conduct all components of the admissions and enrollment outreach operations associated with military-affiliated student prospects. This role will conduct outreach recruiting operations throughout the state and region as the primary interface for all military-affiliated prospective students. The assigned person will advise prospective students on the admissions process and their military education benefit options. The employee will leverage all admissions and enrollment tools to ensure continuous communication and assistance for all prospective military-affiliated students, serving as the primary liaison between prospects and the university departments and resources.
Required Skills
• Knowledge of basic admissions procedures, and military-affiliated education benefits
• Excellent oral and writing communication skills, strong attention to detail, and exceptional follow-through skills
• Ability to communicate effectively and adapt communication styles quickly to meet individual student needs
• Ability to problem solve and work independently
• Ability to assist with outreach events, which requires mobility and some physical demands
• Preparing and submitting budgets for approval and review
• Ability to operate computer systems and programs to access, CRMs, data analysis
• Familiarity with higher education processes and university systems
Minimum Required Experience
• High school diploma (or equivalent education) as well as three (3) years of experience working directly with US veterans (or experience as a veteran); or any combination of experience and education that would provide the competencies required to successfully discharge the essential duties assigned to this position.
Preferred Experience
• Bachelors degree in marketing, communications, or other similar degree paths with course content in writing, speaking, and management focused skills.
• Recruiting and admissions background; experience interfacing with a broad range of demographics as part of designated recruitment campaign or occupational requirement.
• Military/Veteran background and/or affiliation with exceptional knowledge of military culture and military education benefits
About the MVS Office and UM
The Military and Veteran Services Office was created by the University of Montana is dedicated to the success of all military-affiliate students at UM. We serve as the primary liaison for Veterans Affairs (VA) Education Benefits between the University of Montana, the VA, Federal Tuition Assistance, and the student. The office serves as the main location to meet other veterans, receive assistance with services, and to hear about events that may be of interest. The MVSO also helps fulfill the crucial need to increase the retention and graduation rates for our student population and to assist in the recruitment of new students using military education benefits.

Work Schedule: Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 12 months/year.
Salary: $18.639/hr
