Job Description:
The successful External Relations Advisor will provide external relations support across the B2C and B2B businesses in the U.S., supporting the businesses’ license to operate and grow, working closely with the US and global External Relations teams. The role will serve in a shared services capacity to leverage and build the Shell brand and reputation, make a positive impact on the local society, provide support on communications, integrating non-technical risks and emergency response.
Accountabilities:
Provide general External Relations support to selected businesses, assets and projects in country to leverage Shell’s brand and reputation in country
Support the full range of External Relations services as needed in country, including social performance, social investment, internal communications, media relations, stakeholder relations and non-technical risk integration.
Understand the opportunities, challenges, trends, issues and risks in the external landscape through stakeholder sensing and engagement
Ensure that social and reputational opportunities and risks are assessed at an early stage, mitigated or leveraged, and integrated into business plans
Communicate Shell’s capabilities, achievements, products/services, and thought leadership to build preference with partners, customers and other stakeholders
Assignment will play a significant in major country reputation programs such as Make the Future/Shell Eco-marathon and Powering Progress Together.

Requirements:
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
Bachelor's Degree required. Degree related to Public Relations, Marketing, Mass Communication and Journalism preferred.
Minimum of five (5) years relevant working experience as an external communications professional.
Solid experience in Marketing / Public Relations or External Relations in Business or in Country.
Professional writing skill is a must.
Comprehensive knowledge in Crisis Management and Internal Communications.
Proven ability in Business Partnering, Non-technical Risk Management, Stakeholder Engagement, Media Relations and Brand.
Experience in Social Media content management is preferred.
