Description

The Market Development Advisor is a field-based role reporting to the Market Vice President(s). This role provides strategic support to the local market leader, particularly with executive reporting and analytics, insights-driven performance management, project management and execution, and other miscellaneous operational activities for their local market. This role will provide leadership support on key strategic initiatives for the market, from ideation through implementation. Role requires strong technical and analytical acumen and will be expected to deliver actionable insights that drive meaningful performance improvement in the local market. The role will work closely with Sales market leadership and key aligned partners in the areas of Sales Enablement, Finance, Actuary, Pricing, Marketing, Product, the Director of Strategy Advancement and the regionally aligned Strategic Advisor. The role requires strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence others and collaborate effectively.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Take a leadership role in the development and execution of the Market Sales Strategy and Market Operating Plan with cross prioritization of resources to achieve goals within Small Group, Large Group, and respective vertical areas to ensure success.

Provides strategic support to sales execution and go-to-market initiatives by working closely with Market leadership and GTM team.

Facilitate the annual development and refresh of market strategy in alignment with broader Enterprise Strategy by identifying strategic priorities and underlying initiatives that will help deliver sustained growth and profitability for the market over the next 3-5 years.

Work closely with SG and LG Practice Leaders to ensure alignment on strategic priorities and initiatives.

Work with partners in Finance, Actuary and Underwriting to drive accurate and timely monthly/quarterly projection reporting activity.

Establishes the feedback-loop to inform upcoming year's strategy development by managing investment trade-offs and tracking the strategy execution through collection and reporting of financial and initiative level metrics.

Partner with Finance and Leadership in scorecard development and actions to achieve results.

Gather insights and provide guidance to Finance and Market Leadership to ensure growth targets and financials are based on strategic priorities.

Build and maintain exceptional cross-functional relationships and coordinate efforts on strategic market initiatives with internal partners such as Finance, Product, Actuary, Underwriting, Broker Relations, Marketing etc. Collaborate with matrix partners to perform the internal scan and gap analysis of capability roadmaps in order to identify investment areas and initiatives aligned to strategic priorities

Aggregate internal partners' data sets to report, analyze and synthesize monthly strategic meetings.

Partners with matrixed operational leaders and market leaders to ensure capability enablement as well as sales execution is aligned with the market goals

Aggregate Book of Business and prospect data from disparate sources and combine it in workable format for leadership.

Review, analyze and true-up sold business, revenue and membership with Finance team.

Manage special projects and events from conception to completion e.g. site reviews, client/broker forums and events and Agent Advisory Councils.

Manage business interactions and coordinated events between business affiliates and elite clientele, aiding in retention and new sale efforts for the market.

Support MVPs to manage budget for Community Engagement, Travel & Expense, Lobbying, Broker Engagement, Client Engagement. Drive operating expense improvement metrics.

Coordinate training, development, and onboarding for new members to the sales team.

Perform external scan of market trends and competitive landscape as well as stakeholder needs (Customer, Client, Producers and Providers) to inform the key strategic priorities for market.

Provide strategic guidance and program-level support for multiple initiatives across the market.

Apply project management skills and problem solving abilities during all phases of the project life cycle for both small and large scale initiatives in the market.

Monitor operational performance and facilitate business meetings to recommend changes to operations.

Develop SME status in ARC/Salesforce.com/Tableau to mine data for strategic planning and to conduct training to sales team.

Required Qualifications:

5 - 8 years' experience in a Sales Enablement, Project Management, Analytics or related position

Demonstrated proficiency in plan development, analytics and reporting

Demonstrated ability to apply business financial knowledge to support growth and earnings goals and to provide meaningful analytics

Experience managing large-scale projects and cross-functional teams

Ability to analyze data and make informed recommendations

Proven track record in developing working relationships and influencing throughout the matrix environment

Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities

Bachelor's Degree

Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office (Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role). A minimum standard speed of 10x1 (10mbs download x 1mbs upload) is required.

A dedicated home office space, with a locked door, lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Preferred Qualifications:

Six Sigma and/or PMP Certification

Bachelor's or Master's Degree with concentration in Finance, Business or related field

Additional Information:

Temporary Work At Home - Office Location will be in the Atlanta, GA / Roswell, GA metro area.
