The Automation Methods and Optimization team is a start-up team at Tyson Foods that is responsible for identifying automation and process optimization opportunities, performing financial modeling, driving the automation roadmap, and executing automation projects. We will also partner across the enterprise to define and facilitate a governance model to ensure we leverage Tyson's full scale as a Fortune 100 company as we engage external partners and suppliers for automation tech and services, simplify our automation solution catalog, and help streamline supportability and solution maintenance.
The Automation Change Manager will play a critical role in ensuring new approaches and projects (change initiatives) result in high levels of employee adoption and usage. You will focus on the people side of change, including changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles and ways of performing work. The primary responsibility will be creating and implementing change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and usage and minimize resistance within manufacturing environments. The change manager will work to drive faster adoption of automation solutions, higher ultimate utilization of and proficiency with the changes implemented. These improvements will increase benefit realization, value creation, ROI and the achievement of results and outcomes.
While this role may not be supervisory initially, it is a leadership position and you will need to build strong partnerships across organizations to achieve our collective goals. You will also act as a coach for senior leaders and executives in helping them fulfill the role of change sponsor and provide direct support and coaching to all levels of managers and supervisors as they help their direct reports through transitions.
Responsibilities
Apply proven change management approaches in order to perform impact analysis, stakeholder analysis, and build and execute change plans resulting in high adoption rates of our solutions, minimal disruption to operations, and overall operations preparedness
Define standard and repeatable approaches for Change Management as it relates to the specific projects and the introduction of automation into operational environments including standard processes, tools, methods, and templates
Help define and drive a change plan for the introduction of standards, governance, and controls within the context of automation
Partner with stakeholders and project teams to lead change impact analysis and build change plans for specific solutions and integrating these plans into overall project plans or sprints
Define an overall automation communications strategy in order to help create a culture of automation and innovation across Tyson Foods (includes communication objectives, methods, audiences, collateral, etc.)
Create professional presentations and communication materials for showcasing implementations
Define a standard approach for skills assessments and partner with operations for the creation of training and operational readiness plans
Build strong and mutually rewarding partnerships across business operations and global functions teams
Requirements
Bachelor of Science or Masters degree in Marketing, Communications, Engineering, IT, or a related field
Minimum of 4-6 years in change management related roles where you have become proficient in proven practices and approaches for rolling out new processes, technology, or introducing cultural change within large enterprises
Significant experience performing change impact analysis, stakeholder/client analysis, and creating plans for ensuring high adoption rates for change
Advanced planning and project management skills (project management certification is a plus)
A high degree of emotional intelligence and proven ability to build strong relationships across organizations
Advanced presentation building and communication skills
Experience gathering and organizing data for insights
Experience working in or with technical, engineering, and manufacturing teams
Hands-on experience where you have brought organization to ambiguous environments with the use of processes, standards, and governance
Ability to clearly “tell the story” and tailor your messaging to partners, leadership, and stakeholders
Human Factors experience and certification is highly desired
Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus
Understanding and knowledge of food production processes and solutions is a plus
Proficient in the use of data to drive decision making
Proficient in the use of process mapping software and tools (mind-mapping tools, Visio, etc.)
Understanding of interdependencies between technology, operations, and engineering
Proven ability to mentor team members to grow in their own career and impact
