CVS Media Exchange [CMX] is dedicated to driving measurable outcomes for our suppliers, merchants, stores, GMs, brand advertisers, and agencies. Our full-funnel ad solutions leverage CVS's in-store and online data, extensive reach, and to provide measurable results for our clientele. With a range of flexible pricing and buying models, including self-service; these solutions help businesses build brand awareness, engage with CVS consumers, and convert CVS consumers to shoppers.

The CMX Leadership team is seeking an experienced Industry Manager to help build and manage a team of vertical industry (general merchandise and consumables) professionals to lead the CMX monetization strategy for our brands. The ideal candidate will be a strategic, creative thinker with the ability to work cross-functionally to develop scalable solutions for their clients and their teams. You will have managed/scaled businesses in these verticals (General Merchandise/Consumables) and have the capability to manage and motivate a small but high-performing team. Ideal candidates will have consistent management experience as well as extensive experience selling or buying cross-network online marketing solutions such as direct response, search, branding, integrated sponsorships, and display advertising. Additionally, you will have experience working within a matrix organization as well as experience in leading, coaching and influencing people. You must have strong consultative sales skills, preferably with pharma industry experience, with C-suite leaders, a collaborative and innovative spirit, and be extremely comfortable dealing with ambiguity.

Responsibilities include:

• Creating sales strategies and building a culture of collaboration to achieve industry-wide sales targets within the annual operating plan by building plans to achieve internal annual objectives across various areas (product management, platform, operations, finance, marketing, research, strategy, and sales)

• Developing a sales strategy for the industry with a minimum sales target (for example, $30M ); finalizing revenue targets for each account along with general managers based on past trend analysis

• Recommending broad approaches and areas of opportunities to meet the targets and long range plans to senior leadership and team: highlighting areas of concern or bottlenecks to the leadership team

• Overseeing and responsible for financial results in aligned pod and tackling this by building action plans to achieve annual objectives across various groups

• Understanding the industry strategy across other departments (marketing, eCommerce marketing, and Stores) and partnering with internal and external stakeholders such as merchandising heads, general managers, senior partners of suppliers, agencies and marketers to drive the business forward.

• Builds, leads, and develops a team with a minimum team size of 3

• Driving a cross-team/functional workstream; tracking against key performance metrics; creating a playbook for the industry in partnership with other industry managers; crafting conference-worthy case studies that demonstrate the approach, solution provided, success story, and results achieved by the marketer.

• Providing overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes

• Developing and leveraging internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals by sponsoring and leading key community outreach and involvement initiatives; engaging key stakeholders in the development, execution, and evaluation of appropriate business plans and initiatives; and supporting associate efforts in these areas.

This role is work at home flexible. It can be based remotely in the U.S. or near one of our Corporate Hubs. If you are commutable to one of the following Corporate Hubs, you must work in the office 2 or more days a week: Wellesley, MA, Woonsocket, RI, Hartford, CT, Buffalo Grove, IL, Northbrook, IL, Scottsdale, AZ, Irving, TX, or New York, NY. Travel requirement is up to 25%.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

Minimum: 105,000

Maximum: 226,600

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.

Required Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in marketing or advertising sales

• 5 years of performance management, leadership and cross-functional leadership experience

• 4 years of digital media experience including examples of testing, validating emerging opportunities and media networks

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in Retail Media Networks

• Experience in brand advertising (for example, TV or video, sponsorship), media sales, customer acquisition and growth, search, mobile and online sales

• Experience with retail media or retail/ecommerce agency experience

• Previous traditional sales experience, preferably in digital media with CPG clients

• Brand category management experience

• Excellent communication skills that can be effectively articulated in both written and oral forms across a diverse audience base.

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent (HS Diploma and 4 years of experience) required

Master's degree Advertising, Business, Marketing, or Psychology preferred
