The Worldwide Strategic Collaborations Lead is a Global position in the Medical Organization, focused on building research collaborations between BMS and external partners, such as academic and key research centers, community networks, professional societies and cooperative groups in order to accelerate specific Immuno-Oncology and Innovative Medicine research. The Worldwide Strategic Collaboration Lead is responsible for leading this global capability, ensuring the development, internal alignment and execution of the strategies across key research accounts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides global strategic direction, manages, and supports all existing Medical strategic collaboration (e.g., OAR, GECI, Societies and Associations, PICI/CRI), their evolution and potentially other partnerships.
Expand the scope of strategic collaborations into additional therapeutic areas, leveraging existing and/or new external partners
Organize an integrated capability and leadership/governance structure that can scale and evolve over time, and be leveraged for other key partnerships.
Effectively and efficiently partner with/advise Medical and R&D leadership to evaluate, assess, design, enhance and develop long and short term strategies for Strategic Collaborations (1-5 years).
Establish the global vision for this capability, build the internal and external brand and manage a robust stakeholder and change plan ensuring internal alignment.
Establish a trusted relationship across the BMS functional teams (e.g., Discovery, Development, Medical, Commercial) with these external collaborations and represent BMS enterprise needs to these collaborators.
Effective and timely triage of escalated issues across respective collaborations, including integrating and facilitating interactions with key internal customer-facing stakeholders and then mobilizing them to respond to customer needs in a global level.
Leverages analytics to identify opportunities to optimize performance across the Global Medical organization.
Evolve the existing Oncology Academic Research, and GECI teams ensuring execution of the strategies across the respective collaborations.
Act as the link between the worldwide teams, country teams, and the partners to ensure that the commitments of each partnership are consistently met.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or similar field
Minimum 10 years of relevant leadership experience working in Pharmaceuticals, Bio-Technology and or related Medical Science businesses
Comfortable, capable and credible interacting across all levels of the business with a demonstrated track record of establishing and actively managing relationships with key external stakeholders, matrix partners and other company resources to optimize capabilities.
Extensive experience translating strategy into actionable projects and initiatives
Strong strategic, envisioning and critical thinking skills, with the ability to think/act both strategically and tactically
Proven track record developing effective strategic governance and communications that drive results
Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
Significant experience with collaborative projects, thought leader engagement or partnerships
Strong project management skills and substantive track record in working effectively with cross-functional teams
Ability to juggle multiple projects, shifts gears and adapt to changing business conditions to meet deadlines. Works well under the pressure of deadlines and changing priorities.
Experience leading global/virtual teams with a strong understanding across a range of medical, commercial and R&D roles
Proficiency with digital work tools (PowerPoint; Word; Excel; Outlook; Illustrator; SharePoint; Podcasting; Video; Survey Monkey; Web Content Management; Sway; Yammer).
Travel Requirement
HQ based position with international/domestic travel requirement between 30-40%.
