Description

Humana is seeking a marketing intern who will 'virtually' join the Physician Marketing team during the summer of 2021.

As background, the Physician Marketing team is comprised of marketing professionals and leaders who target and support Humana in-network physicians and care providers so they can provide the best care experience to our members, which ultimately, improves health outcomes. To do so, we collaborate with business partners across the company who are invested in the physician audience (i.e. Population Health, Retail, Clinical, Pharmacy and Home Health) to help them achieve their goals by increasing physician engagement as well as creating an optimal physician communication experience.

The Physician Marketing team's mission is to build awareness among physicians, earn their trust and positively shape their perceptions to view Humana as a care brand. We also strive to increase provider engagement in Humana products, programs and services that support improved health outcomes, cost of care reductions and improved member experience.

Responsibilities

The marketing intern will be responsible for:

Collaborating across the Physician Marketing team to help support integrated marketing strategies, campaigns and projects, including shared responsibilities in the areas of planning, campaign messaging, campaign execution and performance monitoring.

Developing marketing content/messaging that reflects both the Humana brand and audience-specific Humana value proposition.

Creating marketing presentations for team and business partner updates/report-outs.

Building working relationships with business stakeholders, which includes internal/external vendors and partners.

Exercising strong project management skills to map out timelines, build project plans, anticipate problems and, if needed, bring in additional stakeholders to work through solutions.

Gathering internal/external research and insights to support need for proof points, competitive landscape, best practices, etc.

Specific projects will vary based on in-flight initiatives at the time of the intern's start-date, but examples of the types of projects include:

Population health content management

Pharmacy growth campaign support

Physician newsletter project coordination

Provider digital experience contributor

Home health project support

Personal and career development opportunities

By the completion of the internship, the student can expect to have:

Ability to contribute to marketing strategy development and integrated marketing campaigns that impact members' healthcare experience and ultimately, their health outcomes.

Skills in content/message development that's reflective of our brand and meets the respective need we're trying to solve for with our audience.

Exposure to Humana's new physician brand architecture strategy work and understanding the tenants to building a brand for the physician audience.

Development in business acumen, understanding the healthcare and insurance landscapes, Humana's business model and our product/services offerings.

Experience navigating the right people, processes and resources within a Corporate Marketing environment.

Mentoring relationships with business and executive leadership that will help shape personal and professional maturity.

Required Qualifications

Currently pursuing Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business or related field

Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills

Strong writing and content development skills

Strong attention to detail and managing/prioritizing diverse projects

Excellent planning and organizational skills

Demonstrated ability to work virtually and independently, be self-directed and motivated, and meet deadlines

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Must not require sponsorship to work in the U.S. now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications

Have a strong academic history, with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA being desired

Be actively involved on-campus and/or in the community

Possess an interest in working in the healthcare industry

Brings a strong curiosity to initiate new and unique perspectives, ideas and strategies

Understanding of digital and social marketing channels and metrics as it relates to business
