Web-calling service Jajah has announced that Yahoo Inc has chosen Jajah to provide voice services to Yahoo’s 97 million Yahoo Messenger users. Jajah is a startup company under the financial patronage of Deutsche Telekom and Intel. The deal with Yahoo means that Jajah will power Yahoo’s phone service and allow people to make low-cost PC-to-phone and phone-to-PC voice calls via Yahoo Messenger to more than 200 countries. “The partnership leverages Jajah’s open, next generation communications platform to support the existing Yahoo Messenger voice offering beginning in the third quarter,” Jajah said in a statement. Jajah is best known as a telecom provider that allows customers to make inexpensive calls via a system in which customers enter two numbers: their own number and the number they wish to call. Jajah then calls both the numbers and connects them after both parties answer.
