Omnicom’s OMD has named Alan Cohen its new CEO for US operations, effective June 1. Cohen will be based in Los Angeles, CA, and report to Page Thomson, CEO of North American operations for OMD. “I’m excited to have Alan join our management team,” said Thompson in a statement. “It feels great to be joining a media company that stands for exactly what I believe in: creative and innovative work that helps drive client business results,” Cohen said. Cohen, who is currently at Initiative and was recently promoted to president of Initiative West, has also worked as an entertainment executive at ABC, NBC, and 20th Century Fox during his past job stints. Cohen is credited with bringing about a major turnaround over the past two years in Initiative’s western operations, luring key clients like CBS, Lions Gate Films, and LucasArts to the firm.
