Sprint Nextel Corp has decided to reverse its recent decline by introducing an iPhone look-alike Samsung model, reaffirming its support of wireless Internet technology. The new sleek, black Instinct device features a 3.1-inch touch screen, visual voicemail, a global positioning system (GPS), and a data download rate of 1.4 Mbps. It also features a 2.0 mega pixel camera and a 2 GB storage card. Samsung’s Instinct is expected to pump up competition with LG’s Voyager and HTC’s Touch, while cutting into Apple’s iPhone market share, too. Sprint is also trying to ally with cable companies to help the carrier deploy a WiMax network. The company also plans a massive marketing campaign for the phone, which will be up for grabs in June.
