YouTube has announced the release of a new tool called the YouTube Insight. YouTube users will now be provided with a set of analytics tools which will tell them when and where their videos are being watched. The tools will help video creators to see the geographic makeup of their audiences and dig into the specifics of a video’s performance. YouTube, which accounts for one-third of the 9.8 billion videos viewed in the U.S., according to comScore, said that it also encourages posted videos at the grassroots level. Tracy Chan, YouTube product manager, revealed that the idea is to “build audiences, and that equals more views, more ads on videos, and more revenue for partners.”
