Google, which is battling a decline in click volume this year, has lost yet another executive to Facebook, the second in the past month. Ethan Beard, who was director of social media at Google, was given a senior business development role at the California-based Facebook. “While Ethan will be missed, we have the internal expertise necessary to execute on our goals,” Google spokesman Jon Murchinson wrote in an email. Beard follows Sheryl Sandberg, who quit Google as head of sales for Google Adwords and AdSense to become the COO at Facebook. Facebook is, for the time being, on a hiring spree and bolstering management to help CEO Mark Zuckerberg handle an increase in advertising on the site.
