Microsoft has finally announced the public availability of the much-awaited ‘bundle of fixes,’ Service Pack 1 for the year-old Windows Vista. The service pack includes a wrap-up of incremental updates for tackling original issues concerning reliability and performance, along with a certification for 2,000+ applications to work on the Windows Vista operating system. The service pack does have its shares of problems related to compatibility with security systems, according to some experts. The software will however use less bandwidth and will be a bit faster in browsing the internet than the original Vista. The first Vista SP has been viewed by experts as a catalyst for increased use of the operating system among various enterprises and businesses. The size of the service pack is about 435 megabytes, but if downloaded through active Windows Update, it will only take up approximately 65 MB of hard disk space.
