Sprint-Nextel Corp. has started airing a nationwide TV commercial featuring CEO Dan Hesse talking about the newly introduced flat-rate subscription plan for $99.99 per month. “Here’s my idea: You get to use your phone for all the great things it can do without worrying about the meter running. How’s that for a revolution in wireless?” Hesse says in the new ad. The new plan, which Sprint has dubbed the “Simply Everything” plan, boasts of unlimited domestic calling, messaging, and Mobile Internet browsing, along with a GPS navigation application powered by Telenav. Meanwhile, Sprint’s current tagline “Life at Sprint Speed” will be replaced by “Welcome to the Now Network,” a switch aimed at emphasizing the provision of immediate customer service, according to the company. Analysts predict that Sprint’s recent marketing strategies are likely to give a strong push to mobile navigation growth and help the struggling U.S. wireless operator.
