Motorola’s Chief Marketing Officer, Kenneth Keller has resigned from his post, following in the footsteps of former CEO Ed Zander who resigned late, last year. Keller, who was previously employed at Procter & Gamble and Heinz, took over Motorola’s reins in 2006 as CMO soon after the sudden demise of iconic marketer Geoffrey Frost who introduced the ground-breaking ‘Razr’ handset and the immensely popular ‘Hello Moto’ ad campaigns. In a statement, that the Motorola officials released, confirming Keller’s departure, the company said that “this restructuring will ensure that our marketing efforts are even more closely aligned with our businesses.” Keller’s work will be shouldered by Eduardo Conrado and Jeremy Dale, the present vice-presidents of global business and technology and global marketing and communications, respectively. Analysts further state that following Razr’s early success, Motorola has struggled to come up with other models, thus losing ground to competitors such as Nokia, Samsung, LG, and Apple.
