Microsoft has initiated a program for distributing free development tools for students in a bid to make students aware of Microsoft’s software ventures and create a strong pipeline of technically skilled students for the future. The program, called DreamSpark, is aimed at helping the students to ignite their imaginations and careers through professional- looking tools. It includes Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and the 2008 Professional Edition, which will help students accomplish tasks like creating plug-ins for social networking websites and in building fully featured websites using their imaginative skills. The package also includes Expression Studio, SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition, and Windows Server, Standard Edition, along with a few gaming development tools for Xbox and a free12-month membership to the XNA Creators Club.
