Graphics chip giant Nvidia is planning to launch a huge consumer campaign worth $30-$40 million to make their company as recognizable as Intel and is quietly searching for an ad agency, Ad Age reported. In spite of the report, however, an Nvidia spokesman has denied that a formal search is underway for an agency. On another front, Nvidia's plans to purchase AGEIA, maker of PhysX middleware, have sparked competition with Intel over physics software packages. Meanwhile, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is focusing on areas where it can compete with Intel and Nvidia. It is planning to target the mobile market with its Imageon technology and is working with developers to increase the utilization of CPU/GPU in an effective way, media sources stated.
