Yahoo! Inc. has revamped its music strategy by diverting all of its Yahoo! Music Unlimited customers to Rhapsody America, a partnership between RealNetworks and MTV. Yahoo! will stop running its online music subscription service and will market Rhapsody’s service on its website. Existing subscribers will be able to maintain their Yahoo! pricing tiers for a limited time. Rhapsody is priced at $15 a month, while Yahoo! Music Unlimited is priced at $9 a month. Meanwhile, Yahoo! will continue to offer music videos, Internet radio, and music download services through Yahoo! Music. The Yahoo!-Rhapsody deal was announced after Microsoft’s $44.6 billion offer to acquire Yahoo!
