About 67% of marketing executives expect their organizations to be involved in mergers and acquisitions in 2008 despite widespread pessimism about the prospects for the U.S. economy, according to a survey by AdMedia Partners. The survey also revealed that 39% of senior executives at leading advertising, marketing, and Internet marketing firms expect to complete at least one merger and acquisition as a buyer or seller. “Despite concerns of a recession or economic slowdown in the U.S., respondents were surprisingly optimistic about the environment for M&A deals and M&A valuations in 2008,” said Abe Jones, managing partner of AdMedia Partners. The U.S./Canada and Asia regions hold the most growth potential for industry mergers and acquisitions.
