RedZee Replaces Text Results with Visuals
Date: 01-29-2008
RedZee Search has revamped its Internet search display by swapping the standard text-based search results with screenshots of web pages. The RedZee Search 2.0 enables users to browse through 100 web page images, replacing the traditional 10 text results per page. The search engine believes that most people don’t read through pages of text-based listings. According to the company, about 85% of searchers settle on their findings on the first page. “They end up settling on the results that seem the closest and most convenient,” said John Stewart, president of RedZee Search. The new look aims to make it 100 times easier for search engine users to find the most accurate results. “We believe pictures are worth a thousand words, and we’re bringing that philosophy to our search engine,” added Stewart.
