Microsoft Corp. has appointed Todd Peters as corporate vice president of marketing for its mobile communications unit. In his new role, Peters will look after the marketing of Windows Mobile, Windows Live for mobile, and other mobility brands. He will report to Pieter Knook, senior vice president, and replaces Susan Del Bene, who left the company last year. Peters previously served as vice president of brand management for Staples, where he launched the “that was easy” campaign and created the “easy buttons.” He also worked at Intel for six years.
