Pepsi-Cola North America has teamed with Amazon.com to promote Pepsi Stuff, a massive collect-and-get program, where consumers can download digital rights management (DRM)-free MP3 music. Scheduled to begin in February during the Super Bowl, this campaign will see 4 billion specially marked Pepsi packages available to consumers. The Pepsi fans can ''bank'' their points on PepsiStuff.com and redeem them for music on Amazon MP3. Consumers can earn one MP3 song download for every five points. ''We're also broadening the prize pool to include Amazon Unbox TV downloads, electronics, apparel, DVDs, and CDs. We're offering up to $1 billion in prizes, making this the largest promotion we've ever done,'' revealed Cie Nicholson, senior vice president and chief marketing officer of Pepsi-Cola North America.
