BET Networks are launching a vertical advertising network to target the urban and African-American communities. The company's BET Digital Media Group will oversee the new advertising network that will feature more than 30 websites focusing on music, entertainment, and lifestyle content relevant to the urban and African-American communities. Advertisers can target the African-American consumers through these websites. Website publishers can increase their revenues by connecting publishers with these advertisers. ''BET's vertical advertising network will give our advertising clients an exciting new platform to meet their goals, whether they are aiming to build brand awareness, drive sales, or generate leads,'' said Louis Carr, president of media sales at BET Networks. According to Jupiter Research, African Americans are likelier to positively respond to online advertising and are the second largest online minority after Hispanics with 22.7 million users.
