Adobe Systems Incorporated and Yahoo! Inc. introduced Ads for Adobe PDF Powered by Yahoo!, opening new revenue streams for online commercial publishers. Advertisers can now add contextual, text-based ads next to their Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF)-based content. Publishers need to register online and upload their Adobe PDF to ad-enable it. While viewing the PDF content, ads are dynamically matched to the content of the document. These ads will be displayed in an adjacent panel on the content page, thus preventing any disruptions in viewing the main content. This feature will help marketers in displaying ads that match users' interests and track advertising performance, just like normal website ads. This is a free service, currently available as a beta program.
