New Line Cinema has promoted Christina Kounelias to executive vice president of marketing. She will report to Chris Carlisle, the president of domestic marketing.
Kounelias will be responsible for looking after a newly created marketing department infrastructure, strategic marketing, day-to-day management of special task forces, and will also assume Carlisle's responsibilities when he's away. At the same time, she will continue managing the studio's publicity, corporate communications, and award campaigns. Kounelias has served as New Line's executive vice president of publicity and corporate communications since 2001. During her tenure, New Line's PR staff won PR Week's Entertainment Campaign of the Year twice for its work on The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring and Wedding Crashers.
New Line Cinema, an independent film company, has an ambitious slate of films lined up for 2008, including Semi-Pro and Sex and the City.
