Date: 12-31-2007
Amazon.com, Inc. has teamed with Warner Music Group to offer Digital Rights Management (DRM)-free music audio downloads on Amazon MP3. Warner Music Group will showcase its digital audio catalog for purchase and download on Amazon MP3. DRM-free music means that a customer can play any MP3 audio download on any personal digital music capable device. "We believe that giving consumers the assurance that the music they purchase can be played on any device they own will only encourage more sales of music," said Michael Nash, senior vice president for digital strategy and business development at Warner Music Group. Warner Music Group's artists include Led Zeppelin, Madonna, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Amazon MP3 has more than 2.9 million songs, and most songs are priced from 89 cents to 99 cents.
