The One Laptop Per Child Program has extended the promotion of its "Give One, Get One" program, which will now run through December 31, extending from the original schedule of November 12 to November 26, 2007. According to the program, a customer will pay $399 for two laptops. The second laptop is automatically donated to a school-age kid from a developing country (such as Rwanda, Afghanistan, Cambodia, Haiti, or Mongolia). Created by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, this program is offered in the U.S. and Canada. The massive demand created by mainstream consumers to participate in this program is the main reason for the extension of the program.
