Amazon.com Enjoys Its Best Holiday Season Ever

Internet retail giant Amazon.com announced that the 2007 holiday season was its strongest since it opened in 1994. Amazon.com declared December 10 as its busiest day of the season, when it sold 5.4 million items, accounting for 62.5 items sold every second. Last year's busiest day was December 11 with reported sales of 4 million items. This year's top sellers include Jakks EyeClops Bionic Eye in toys, Nintendo Wii in video games, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in DVDs, Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert in books, Noel by Josh Groban in music, Garmin GPS in consumer electronics, and Apple MacBook in PCs.
