Marketing basics, comprising concepts such as customer satisfaction, customer retention, segmentation, brand loyalty, and return on investment, was tagged the most interesting marketing concept (60%) in the Top Marketing Trends for 2008, a survey of marketing executives recently released by Marketing Executives Networking Group. Search Engine Optimization followed at 42%, while "Green Marketing," 32%, was identified as the trendiest marketing buzzword. The survey also provided statistics on global leaders (China ranking highest at 52%), customer demographics (Baby Boomers considered the most important at 88%), and books most recently read: Good to Great, The World is Flat, and Blink.
