Recognized worldwide for novelty and leadership in wireless services, Motorola Inc. and Napster, innovators in digital music, have entered an exclusive marketing agreement for the U.S., UK, and German markets. The agreement will provide subscription-enabled Motorola mobile users easy access to a huge collection of music and content absolutely free. These special marketing schemes will be available on the entire range of music-enabled optimized handsets of Motorola that feature Windows Media DRM. Expected to be available in the market by the second half of this year, the agreement's maiden plan is to offer one month Napster To Go subscriptions as a free service. The plan will help mobile users access special content, expert programming, and over three million songs.
Microsoft buys online firm for $6 billion
Microsoft Corp. will pay $6 billion to procure online advertising and marketing firm aQuantive, Inc. Microsoft has struck the biggest deal in its history with the acquisition of the agency, which provides display and banner ads to other websites. Headquartered in Seattle, aQuantive is a worldwide leader in digital marketing services and technologies. The agency will manage Microsoft's online services from Seattle with its staff of 2,600. Microsoft presently delivers ads by and large to its own websites, including MSN. aQuantive's tools will allow Microsoft to deliver ads on video games and other such appliances linked to the Internet, and also on third-party websites. The president of Microsoft's platforms and services division, Kevin Johnson, believes that the transaction with aQuantive will elevate Microsoft's business in Internet advertising to a new level.
Antares Marketing Group appoints new president
Antares Investment Partners hired Lori Levine Ordover as the new president of Antares Marketing Group. With 20 years' expertise in sales and marketing, leasing, and development of luxury real estate, Ordover will look after the sales and marketing of Greenwich Oaks, Greenwich Place, the Antares Mansion Group, and the Stamford Harbor Point Development. Earlier, Ordover worked as the senior managing director for Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group. Apart from guiding the sales efforts for Stamford's Highgrove Condominium, her job also included planning and implementing sales and marketing strategies for luxury real estate projects for the Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group. The projects include the St. Regis Residences in New York City, the Mondrian South Beach, and Grand Sierra Resort, Reno, Nev. Joseph P. Beninati and James P. Cabrera were the founders of the 11-year-old Greenwich-based real estate private equity and development firm.
