Date: 11-22-2007

Top retail brands are all geared to begin "doorbuster" promotions by keeping their outlets open all night during this holiday season. The reason: Black Friday is considered among the busiest shopping days of the year. Post-Thanksgiving period generates the maximum sales and is considered an important indicator of the nation's economic confidence, reports Associated Press.

Here are some of the major retail businesses' holiday schedules:
  • The Gap Inc. will have 170 outlets nationwide open at midnight. Also, nearly 90% of the company's Old Navy franchises will open at 5 a.m. Friday (two hours earlier from last year).
  • KB Toys Inc.'s 135 shops will be open at midnight. This accounts for 30% more stores than last year.
  • J.C. Penney Co. stores and Mervyns will open at 4 a.m. Friday.
  • Circuit City Stores Inc. and Best Buy Co. will open at 5 a.m. Friday.
  • Target Corp. will open at 6 a.m. Friday.
  • Most of Wal-Mart Stores Inc.'s stores will open at 5 a.m. Friday.
  • Chelsea Property Group's all 38 outlets will open at midnight Thursday.
  • General Growth Properties Inc.'s 12 malls will open at midnight.
